'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare' DLC Update: Activision to Launch Premium DLC for Remastered Version
Video game publisher Activision recently announced that it will be releasing new downloadable content (DLC) for "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered."
The premium DLC will arrive in the form of four new remastered maps as part of the Variety Map Pack, the same name of the DLC released for the original "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" nine years ago. In announcing the upcoming DLC, a promo video for the Variety Map Pack was also released.
The Variety Map Pack of the remastered version of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" will include four separate areas known as Broadcast, Chinatown, Creek and Killhouse.
Broadcast is based on the TV station from the campaign mission known as "Charlie Don't Surf," and features tightly confined corridors as well as open spaces meant for sprawling battles. Chinatown is a game map which features a nighttime setting in a dark downtown city locale, with only neon signs and a full moon as lighting.
The Creek map features an area filled with open clearings, cliffs as well as forestry, which are ideal locations for snipers and long-range combat. Lastly, the Killhouse map has the perfect location for intense and fast-paced shootouts. It contains a tiny training warehouse where players are pitted against each other.
According to GameRant, the upcoming premium DLC pack, aside from the four new areas, will also include 10 Rare Supply Drops containing cosmetic items.
Gamers who are interested in acquiring the forthcoming Variety Map Pack DLC will be able to pick up the premium update for $15. However, because of Activision and Sony's current timed-exclusive partnership, PlayStation 4 users will be able to download the DLC pack ahead of other platforms on March 21.
The original Variety Map Pack was released in April 2008 for $10. It arrived first on the Xbox 360 and sold 1 million units in the first nine days of its launch.
"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered" is now available on the PS4, Xbox One and PC as bundled content with the Legacy Edition as well as the Digital Deluxe Edition of "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare."
