'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare' News: New DLC Proceeds to Benefit US Military Veterans

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" publisher Activision has recently announced that the newest downloadable content pack for the remastered title will be sold for a cause. Its proceeds will benefit the military veterans of the United States of America.

Through the official Twitter page of the "Call of Duty" Endowment, it was announced that 100 percent of the sales from the newest Brass Personalization Pack DLC will benefit military veterans through the CODE program.

The Brass Personalization DLC Pack includes a weapon camo that draws inspiration from the American flag since it uses red stripes and stars. The DLC will also include an emblem, a reticle and a calling card. While CODE's Twitter post did not mention the DLC's price, GameSpot suggests that it will probably cost somewhere around $5.

According to CODE's Twitter page description, "The Call of Duty Endowment helps veterans transition to civilian careers after their military service by supporting groups that prepare them for the job market."

CODE was established as early as 2009 and believes, as stated in their official website, that after the 9/11 attack, the rate of unemployed young military veterans became relatively larger compared to the national average.

Thirteen percent of young military veterans find it hard to join a civilian career after serving the country compared to the average of 5 percent unemployed Americans on a national scale.

According to CODE's 2016 annual report, "We were able to fund the placement of 11,615 veterans in high-quality jobs by providing funding to the most effective veteran employment nonprofits in the country—that's the equivalent of an entire division of soldiers!"

As of late, CODE reports that they were able to support more than 30,000 military veterans since 2009 and 90 percent of them have a full-time job. CODE claims that their beneficiaries' average starting salary is above $55,000 or 1.8x more compared to the national median personal income. CODE is targeting to place 50,000 military veterans to a stable civilian career by 2019.

On the other hand, the Brass Personalization DLC Pack for "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" is available starting Feb. 16.
