'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered' confirmed, not sold separately

With the official announcement of Activision's newest "Call of Duty" title also came the confirmation of "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" remastered version. The enhanced "Call of Duty 4," however, is only available as a bonus to the new "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare."

Developer Infinity Ward, developer of "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," also created the fan-favorite title from 2007. But for the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered," the studio gives the reins to Activision subsidiary Raven Software as it executive produces the enhanced version.

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered boasts vibrant current generation visuals, with fully improved texture resolution and detail, high-dynamic range lighting, lit and shadowing VFX particles, revamped animation and audio, stunning sound, and much more," Activision said in a press release.

The remastered game will include a full campaign and 10 multiplayer maps from the original game which will, of course, come in high-definition visuals. Activision has not enumerated all maps that will be coming with the game other than confirming Crash, Backlot, and Crossfire. "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered" will also include game mode's such as All Ghillied Up, Mile High Club, and Crew Expendable.

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered" will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It will be included in "Infinite Warfare's" Legacy Edition, Digital Legacy Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, and Legacy Pro Edition and cannot be acquired otherwise. The Legacy editions start selling at $79.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes "Infinite Warfare," "COD Modern Warfare Remastered," and the season pass, can be bought for $99.99. The Legacy Pro Edition costs $119.99 and includes the Digital Deluxe edition's content plus a collectible Steelbook, official game soundtrack, and additional digital items which were not specified.

Activision previously hinted at "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered" last week. The company had responded with a poop and pants emoji to a tweet that was a couple of years old. The game will be available with "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" which will release on Nov. 4.
