'Call of Duty' Release Date News: Black Ops 3 or World at War 2?

Fresh from the huge success of their 2014 edition of "Call of Duty" titled "Advanced Warfare," publisher Activision previously announced that the next COD series will be released this fall and that the studio who will handle the development will be Treyarch.

"We have Treyarch developing the game. We'll have a larger installed base of next-gen hardware to sell into, and we believe our Q4 new release can be one of our best games yet. So we think the future is bright," Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said.

Treyarch is the house that brought the top selling "Black Ops" series as well as the 2008 hit "World at War." Activision, however, didn't reveal if the studio will continue on Black Ops 3 or World at War. Some even say that it could be a different game altogether.

A recent update from Express U.K. meanwhile cited Treyarch's official Twitter page posting a cryptic message that says:

"We look forward to carrying on the conversation ... that is, if we haven't started it already. #InDevelopment" the tweet reads.

This confirms that the next COD title is already on its way to completion. Interpreting the "carrying on the conversation" can be understood as the next game being a sequel.

However, for those who don't want to wallow on mere speculations, a report from Gamespot indicated that any update about the next COD shouldn't be expected until May, wherein Activision usually unveils details of their new Call of Duty games.
