'Call of Duty: WWII' Requires 80 GB Storage on PlayStation 4

PlayStation (PS) 4 owners who are planning to buy a copy of "Call of Duty: WWII" should make some room on their drive.

According to VG247, "Call of Duty: WWII" needs 80 gigabytes (GB) of free space in order to download. A Reddit user by the name of NightRaptorX5Text shared a photo of the game's digital version being sold at retail stores. The photo reveals that the hard drive space required for the game is 80 GB, which is comparably larger than the Xbox One version's 45 GB.

The publication posits that this could be due to a few of reasons. First of all, it is possible that more space is required for the PS 4 version because the game is Pro-enhanced. This means that the driver requirement is bigger to accommodate higher resolution graphics.

However, PlayStation 4 players are not the only ones who will get enhanced visuals. The same higher resolution assets will also make it to the Xbox One via a patch at a later time.

The other reason for the significantly larger drive requirement is due to the future downloadable content (DLC). The publication notes that games are inclined to list higher requirements in order to make room for the DLCs that will be released further down the line.

Since the digital version of the game is not yet available on the PlayStation Store, it is likely that the answer to the large drive requirement will only come days before the title's launch. This is usually when the pre-load becomes available on the PlayStation Store.

"WWII" is the latest installment in the "Call of Duty" series. It will feature a new social space called Headquarters, where players can hang out, socialize, and work on their skills. Players will also experience another new feature called Divisions, which will replace the create-a-class system and allow players to choose from several different divisions.

"Call of Duty: WWII" will be released on Nov. 3.
