Cameron Diaz Makes A Gross Confession
Cameron Diaz, known for her lean figure, has surprised fans by admitting her favorite snack recently: fried pork skin.
While they are known as fried pork skin or pork rinds in the U.S., the British snack is also called pork scratchings and consists of skin that has been salted, deep-fried, and served cold.
The 40-year-old actress confessed that the salty treat is her most prized delicacy while speaking to Elle U.K.
"Oh, that's my favorite snack in the whole world," said Diaz in the magazine's December edition.
Part of the process behind making pork scratchings involves burning off the pig's hair, and sometimes not all hair is removed. The unwanted addition to the snack does not bother Diaz though.
"Even with the bristles- I don't care, I'll do it," said the actress, according to the magazine. "It's my favorite thing."
Diaz's surprising affinity for the British snack could have arisen while filming "Gambit" last year in the U.K.
Wednesday night, the actress attended the world premiere of the film in London. Her "Gambit" co-star Colin Firth also attended the event.
The Michael Hoffman-directed film follows a private art curator Harry Deane (Firth) who plots to con England's wealthiest man into purchasing a fake painting with help of a Texas rodeo queen (Diaz).
Despite her unhealthy snacking, Diaz has revealed her dedication to working out in the past. Moreover, the actress is working on a book focused on fitness and nutrition.
"It's not about what I eat or what I do," said the "There's Something About Mary" star while speaking to the U.S. version of Elle last year. "It's really about the information, so that young girls and women can look at it and make their own choices."
"I'd hate to give them guidelines of what I do," she continued. "I'm excited about my discipline [which focuses on] a protein, a grain, and a green … I want to be disciplined. It's not a limitation to me; it opens up my life to so many opportunities."
