Cameron Diaz New Beach Photos Emerge as Actress Lands Fashion Gig
Cameron Diaz is currently filming a new comedy in the Caribbean, but she has also broken onto the fashion scene this week.
The actress made her fist official mark in the fashion industry after being named the artistic director at Pour La Victoire (PLV), according to Vogue magazine.
Diaz also bought stake in PLV Studio Inc, the accessories and footwear brand's parent company.
Despite her frequent red carpet appearances, the Hollywood starlet has never been closely linked to fashion and has never been featured in fashion advertisements.
However, the 40-year-old star has apparently always understood the importance of fashion.
"I don't do endorsements really. This is completely different," Diaz divulged of her new post as artistic director, according to Women's Wear Daily. "Being influential in a brand and in its campaign interests me. I love fashion; it's a large part of my life. What I wear is often looked at, it influences what other people wear because that's just the world we live in."
Working with PLV in "a true partnership," Diaz will have a say in the brand's forthcoming designs as well as their marketing and advertising.
"Pour La Victoire gives me the opportunity to create something timeless," she told WWD. "I'm interested in learning how collections are created. The word 'fun' – I want to say that it's going to be fun, but it's deeper than that."
Meanwhile, just as Diaz was named PLV's artistic director, the actress was spotted in the Caribbean over the weekend.
The actress was enjoying a break from filming "The Other Woman" on the beach alongside co-stars Leslie Mann and Kate Upton. Filming for the romantic comedy has also taken place in New York City as well as the Hamptons.
Furthermore, the busy actress is slated to appear in the upcoming Will Smith-produced reboot of "Annie."
The "There's Something About Mary" star will reportedly portray Miss Hannigan in the reboot: the same role that went to Carol Burnett in the original 1982 "Annie" film, according to The Wrap.
In addition to Will Smith, Jay-Z will also be producing the updated musical, which is best known for is its famous numbers such as "Tomorrow" and "Hard-Knock Life."
