Cannibal Case: NYPD Officer Pleads Not Guilty in Plot to Kidnap, Cook and Eat 100 Women

A cannibal case, which has shocked the nation, has seen a city police officer plead not guilty to charges that he planned to kidnap, torture, cook and eat at least 100 women.

The police officer was found with detailed files on more than 100 women, with photos, names and addresses contained in the documents. Authorities have accused the officer of taking the information from a confidential police database.

However, officer Gilberto Valle pleaded not guilty when he appeared in federal court in Manhattan this week.

The 28 year old NYDP officer was arrested a month ago after authorities were tipped off by his estranged wife.

Prosecutors are citing as evidence of Valle's intention to cannibalize his victims by showing a document on his computer titled, " Abducting and Cooking (Victim 1): A Blueprint."

He also had a list made up of equipment he would need, including a car, rope and chloroform.

Valle is accused of writing in July, "I was thinking of tying her body onto some kind of apparatus ... cook her over low heat, keep her alive as long as possible," according to the complaint.

In other documents found belonging to Valle he describes how to fit a woman's body into his oven, saying that he would have to bend her legs. He also made another post saying how "tasty" one victim looked.

However, Valle's defense attorneys are arguing that no women were actually harmed and that he was never a serious threat. His attorney has said that the alleged plot was simply fantasy, akin to some kind of game for the accused.

Valle is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where he studied psychology and criminal justice.
