'Captain America 3: Civil War' News, Cast, Spoilers: Vision Will Be on Team Stark
Everyone is awaiting the Phase 3 of Marvel as it promises to introduce more characters and more movies featuring superheroes fighting side by side, or in the case of "Captain America: Civil War," which kicks off Phase 3, going against each other. With Team Steve Rogers/Captain America on one side and Team Tony Stark/Ironman on the other, it's hard to really choose between them. Perhaps this becomes the biggest dilemma for neutral heroes such as Vision.
Paul Bettany, who portrays Vision, talks with Collider about how his character will deal with the turmoil within the group in the upcoming movie. He shares, "What I love about my character is that there are so many places for him to go. I think he's very interested in what it means to be human and what love is." He further talks about how Vision will explore loyalty as part of his learning curve with love. "The only way one can guarantee one's loyalty is love. Loyalty is beyond logic, really. Logic doesn't really provide for loyalty. If your logic changes suddenly and things not make sense, you can alter your allegiance, but love stops you from being able to do that."
It is somehow assumed that based on Vision's extreme logical side, he will be siding with Stark in the beginning as he might believe loyalty equates to love. However, Bettany might have somehow given away some clues on switching sides later on as it is expected that his relationship with Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) will continue to develop and may open his eyes more to the idea of what love really is.
Betanny also gives his opinion about the theme that the third Captain America installment is taking on, which is superheroes publicly registering through the government. "It's going to be a lot of fun. I think it's really interesting, the way that a huge, epic superhero extravaganza is discussing a really interesting question, which is about people unilaterally going into other people's countries and their intervention there."
"Captain America: Civil War" is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
