"Following the events of "Age of Ultron", the collective governments of the world pass an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity. This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle between former allies."

Fans of the Marvel series have been expecting the film which pits America's favorite captain against Iron Man, an event which will be foreshadowed by "Avengers: Age of Ultron" when it opens in theaters May 1.

In the plot, billionaire playboy genius inventor, Tony Stark faces off with Captain America's Steve Rogers in an ethics-based battle over the Superhuman Registration Act, a U.S. government sanction requiring all humans with superpowers to register their abilities and present themselves for cataloging to S.H.I.E.L.D.

This registration stems from the events occurring in "Age of Ultron," and will foment disunity among the Avengers who will ultimately be choosing sides, leading to an epic battle.

Casting calls for extras of various ethnicities have already been posted in Atlanta, Georgia, where shooting is expected to start April 4 up until August 8.

"Captain America: Civil War" will see the return of Chris Evans as Captain America, Robert Downey, Jr. as IronMan, Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Anthony Mackie as Falcon, and Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch.

The movie, which is due in theaters on May 6, 2016, will mark the first appearances of Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, Daniel Bruhl as Baron Zemo, and a rumored cameo for the young Spiderman.
