'Captain America: Civil War' News: 'Darker' Iron Man to be Featured in the Movie
After saying that fans of Iron Man cannot expect another standalone feature of the iron-clad superhero in a film anytime soon, Robert Downey, Jr. has said that fans, can, at least, see the character in a different light via the upcoming Marvel movie "Captain America: Civil War."
In an interview with ABC News, Downey said that Iron Man fans will be surprised by the changes that his character will display in the movie.
While it is true that Chris Evans' Captain America will get a bigger share of the spotlight in "Captain America: Civil War," for obvious reasons, Downey's Iron Man role is not to be disregarded. After all, the movie will zero in on the clash of superheroes helmed by their respective characters.
"In a way it's Cap 3 but for me it's like my little Iron Man 4… And then it's back to the thing we all recognize. Everything pulls over to the side of the road when the thunder of an Avengers thing comes through because that's how it is until it changes. If it changes," Downey told Entertainment Weekly back then when asked on the possibility for an "Iron Man 4."
With "Captain America: Civil War" serving as Downey, Jr.'s "mini Iron 4," viewers should not expect him to be the same Tony Stark as portrayed in the previous "Iron Man" films. Based on the released trailers of the movie, one can easily put two and two together and say that it is, indeed, a different Tony Stark/Iron Man that fans know of.
"It's not going to be entirely predictable," Downey Jr. said.
Apart from getting the fans curious as to how bad Iron Man will become in "Captain America: Civil War," Marvel has also baited in its fans into a guessing game as to who will die in the movie. While it is true that the comic book version of "Civil War" kills Captain America, the same thing may not be expected from the movie. This followed Evans' confirmation that not all the heroes involved in the clash will make it alive.
"I think that Marvel likes to keep the fans excited, guessing, curious, all that stuff!" said Scarlett Johansson who portrays the Black Widow.
"Captain America: Civil War" hits the theaters on May 6, 2016.
