Carmelo Anthony, Lala 'Not Separated,' Working on Marriage

Carmelo Anthony and his wife Lala are reportedly working out their martial woes following reports which confirm that they are currently living apart.

The New York power couple, who has been married two years, were plagued with divorce rumors Monday after Anthony, 28, had a bitter confrontation with Boston Celtics player Kevin Garnett over Lala during Monday night's Knicks-Celtics match at Madison Square Garden. Garnett was accused of making derogatory remarks about Anthony's wife, which ultimately shed light on Anthony and Lala's living situation, according to The New York Post's Page Six.

"It is true they haven't seen much of each other in the past few months. She's been away a lot filming her show, 'La La's Full Court Life,' in London, New York and LA," a friend of the couple allegedly told Page Six.

"They are not separated and are still together. She and Melo have a house in LA- so she's always there when she's doing auditions," the source went on.

Lala, who was at Monday night's game, has evidently been absent from the stadium for several weeks, which is unusual considering the reality TV star attended almost every Knicks home game last season. At times, she also reportedly traveled with the Knicks on the road to remain close to her husband.

"They have been living separately for several months now. She's been living in LA while Carmelo has been in New York." The source said "La La used to go out to the games and wanted to be seen . . . now she's always off doing her own thing."

Lala, 33, was photographed partying in Miami without Anthony on New Year's Eve and onlookers could not help but observe she was not wearing her wedding ring.

"La La's also been partying with girlfriends from Mexico to Miami, which has displeased Melo and made him angry," a separate source said.

The couple were allegedly searching for a new luxury home over the summer and at one point viewed $25,000-a-month apartments in Tribeca, although they abruptly called off their search in recent months.

"During the summer they were looking for a new apartment constantly," a source said. "About two months ago, that completely dried up. They don't even return their brokers' phone calls anymore."
