Carrie Ann Inaba Calls Off Engagement Ahead of 'DWTS' Premiere

ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" judge Carrie Ann Inaba has ended her engagement to fiancé Jesse Sloan this week.

Following a public proposal on "Live!" With Regis and Kelly" last year, Inaba and Sloan have chosen to go their separate ways.

"They decided early in the summer to break off their engagement and have remained friends," Inaba's representative revealed, according to People magazine.

Inaba, 44, met Sloan, a 40-year-old accountant, on eHarmony, and gushed about their relationship in the weeks following the public proposal.

The couple had plans to wed barefoot beside the ocean, which "has such a spiritual meaning," Inaba told People.

"It's so vast and yet it unites everyone," explained Inaba of the ocean. "We want everybody to get their feet wet in the water after we say our vows."

Moreover, admitting having met Sloan on the online dating service, Inaba revealed her feelings about the site at the time.

"I was dating all these younger guys," she told Access Hollywood. "I was like, 'Maybe I need to change it up a little.'"

Of her online dating profile, Inaba said she left a lot to the imagination due to her celebrity and focused on what she wanted on a partner.

"I didn't put up a picture, I didn't put anything about who I was," the judge explained. "I was like, 'You need to be sexy. I need to be attracted to you.' I really put exactly what I wanted. 'I love cats!'"

Inaba can be seen on the all-star edition of "DWTS," the series' 15th season, starting Sept. 24 on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.

The new season of "DWTS" will see the return of hosts Brooke Burke-Charvet and Tom Bergeron as well as a cast of former contestants who will compete again for the mirrorball trophy.

13 contestants are paired up with professional dance partners for "DWTS: All-Stars." The stars of seasons past include Pamela Anderson, Kirstie Alley, Joey Fatone and Drew Lachey, among many others.

Season 15 of the dancing competition will also see a performance by boy band 98 Degrees, with many more musical guests to be announced.
