Carrie Underwood CMA 2013 Host for Sixth Time
Carrie Underwood will serve as co-host alongside Brad Paisley for the sixth time at the CMA Awards this year.
As two of country music's most popular artists, the dynamic duo is known for their spirited antics as hosts.
Furthermore, both Underwood and Paisley have earned several CMA Awards of their own - Underwood has won five CMA awards, while Paisley has taken home an impressive 14 trophies from ceremonies over the past few years.
The country music group Little Big Town announced the hosts on ABC's CMA Fest on Monday, and fans immediately took to social media with their reactions.
"Remember when the CMA awards became "talk about how amazing Carrie Underwood is," wrote Meredith.
Maddi wrote, "Carrie Underwood is hosting the CMA's #ohhhmyyy!"
"Carrie Underwood is pure perfection," added Chris.
The 47th annual CMA Awards will air Nov. 6 on ABC from Nashville, Tenn.
Meanwhile, Underwood's return to hosting arrives just after the "Jesus Take the Wheel" singer appeared on Live! With Kelly and Michael.
The 30-year-old singer rose to stardom after winning the fourth season of "American Idol" in 2005.
In addition to her CMA Awards, Underwood is a six-time Grammy Award winner and was inducted to the Grand Ole Opry in 2008, among many other accolades.
Alternately, Paisley is best-known for blending traditional country music with Southern rock, and his songs often reference pop culture. His latest single "Accidental Racist" made waves with listeners as the duet with LL Cool J was accused of trivializing slavery.
However, both Paisley and Cool J defended the song, including Paisley telling Jay Leno: "I'm getting into some subjects that don't come up very often in country music, like racism and I think it's time… 'American Saturday Night… Welcome to the future."
Meanwhile, among the contentious lyrics in "Accidental Racist" include Paisley singing, "Our generation didn't start this nation/we're still paying for mistakes that a bunch of folks made long before we came."
Then, Cool J raps: "Dear Mr. White Man, I wish you understood what the world is really like when you're livin in the hood/just because my pants are sagging doesn't mean I'm up to no good."
The song is on Paisley's new album "Wheelhouse."
