Carrie Underwood Sings 'Yesterday' With Paul McCartney's Blessing
Carrie Underwood serenaded the audience at the Emmy's Awards with her own rendition of The Beatles' famous song "Yesterday" on Sunday night.
However, the "American Idol" alum needed permission to perform the song from its creator, Beatles member Paul McCartney.
"The coolest thing about singing 'Yesterday' on the #Emmys is the sweet letter I got from @PaulMcCartney giving me his blessing to sing it," Underwood shared with her millions of Twitter followers.
Earlier, the singer revealed that she was "so honored" to be performing at the Emmy Awards before sharing several photos of her hair and makeup on the red carpet.
Underwood's Emmys performance honored The Beatles and the 50th anniversary of their 1963 performance on "The Ed Sullivan Show."

Meanwhile, while Underwood's Emmys performance went without mishap- a concert in Corpus Christi, Texas saw the singer fall onstage earlier this month.
While performing before a sold-out crowd, the singer fell after tripping on her long shirt in high-heeled boots.
Afterward, the "Blown Away" singer took to Twitter to poke fun at herself, and blamed the fall on her very high heels.
"Hey, remember that time in Corpus Christi when that girl busted her butt on stage?! Hilarious," the singer posted. "Oh wait, that was me! #5inchheels #klutz"
Despite her lighthearted humor on the fall, the "Jesus Take the Wheel" singer sustained an injury and asked her followers, "I can't move my toes. Is that bad?"
Later, Underwood wrote, "Good news, it's not broken… AND I got some new footwear!"
