Carrie Underwood Teams Up with Christian Singer Michael W. Smith on Worship Song for 'CMA Country Christmas'
Carrie Underwood and contemporary Christian singer-songwriter Michael W. Smith joined forces on Friday for a duet of the worship song "All Is Well."
The singers teamed up on the worship song for the taping of ABC's CMA Country Christmas special on Nov. 7. With Smith on the piano before and a full orchestra, Underwood's powerful vocals whipped the audience into a frenzy. Later in the song, the singers combined their voices in perfect harmony.
Lyrics to the worship song include, "All is well all is well / Let there be peace on earth / Christ is come go and tell / That He is in the manger."

Smith initially recorded his rendition of "All Is Well" on his first Christmas album, "It's Christmas," in 1989. In Sept., the singer released his fourth Christmas album "The Spirit of Christmas," on which Underwood is featured on "All Is Well." Smith's new Christmas album also features Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride and Little Big Town, among others.
Meanwhile, ABC's "CMA Country Christmas" is being hosted by Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland this year. Other artists such as Alan Jackson, Steven Tyler, LeAnn Rimes, Brad Paisley, Hunter Hayes, Lucy Hale and Little Big Town will also perform during the Christmas special. "CMA Country Christmas" will air on ABC Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. EST.
Underwood's performance of "All Is Well" is not the first time she has taken on a Christmas song. The singer recorded "Do You Hear What I Hear?" in 2007. Alternately, in addition to "All Is Well," Smith recently released the lyric video to "Silent Night" featuring Little Big Town this holiday season.
"I feel like 'Silent Night' should be reverent, like the emotions being experienced by Mary and Joseph in the moment that Jesus is born and they're getting to hold him," Smith told Country Weekly. "I imagine the reverence of that moment. They would be quiet about this miracle that's happened. It wouldn't be big. It would be soft like you were there. That's what we were going for with 'Silent Night.'"
