Casey Anthony and Marilyn Manson Voted 'Most Creepy'
Poll Says Americans Find Manson and Anthony to be 'Most Creepy'
Americans recently voted Casey Anthony the second “most creepy” person in a poll conducted by California based company E-Poll market research, with hardcore rocker Marilyn Manson coming in first.
Manson, a musician, is known for his controversial counter culture persona, from his demonically-themed music videos to his shock-inspiring lyrics.
Anthony’s celebrity status came involuntarily. Anthony became a national news sensation during her three-year court trial, where she was accused of murdering her two-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony.
Casey Anthony was found “not guilty” in July 2011.
“Anybody people think has committed a crime, whether they are guilty or not, are going to be disliked, and Casey Anthony and O.J. Simpson are disliked," Gerry Philpot, president and chief executive of E-Poll Market Research, told Reuters.
O.J Simpson was voted third most creepy in the survey.
Similarly to past court cases, such as the O.J. Simpson trial, Anthony’s case received a hugely negative response from the public, as many were convinced of Anthony’s guilt.
In August, Anthony was voted “most hated person in America” by the same research company, with 94 percent of voters expressing dislike for Anthony.
E-Poll Market research conducts surveys to determine public’s response to media figures, such as celebrities and sports stars.
The recent poll proves timely for the upcoming Halloween holiday on Oct. 31.
According to TMZ, hundreds of Americans are seeking out a Casey Anthony costume for this Halloween. Costume manufacturer Rubie’s has received requests from 100 different stores for a costume of the scandalous court case phenomenon.
Manson received a “creepiness” rating of 69 percent, while Anthony received 57 percent.
Other top contenders on the “creepy” survey include reality TV personality Spencer Pratt and actor Charlie Sheen.
