Casey Anthony's Father Disappointed by Jury's Verdict
George Anthony revealed during an interview on "Dr. Phil" that the jury's verdict in the contentious murder trial of his daughter, Casey Anthony, was disappointing.
"That's being truthful," said George. "I don’t want to see my daughter put to death but I wanted her held responsible for my granddaughter. I did, and I still do."
Casey Anthony was acquitted of murdering her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, on July 5, 2011 – news that shocked many, including George.

He told Dr. Phil McGraw that he started to shake upon hearing the not-guilty verdict and thought:
"Oh my God, my daughter is going to walk out of here and I’m never going to know about Caylee."
George's wife, Cindy Anthony, who also appeared on the show, had opposite feelings. "I was elated," she told McGraw.
Cindy and George Anthony broke their silence in a two-part interview with Dr. Phil McGraw, who confronted the couple about particular elements regarding the controversial murder trial of their daughter.
The Anthonys were also divided on the events surrounding their granddaughter's death.
Cindy told Dr. Phil McGraw she believed her granddaughter drowned, while George firmly maintained that Caylee was drugged and Casey knew more about the situation than she let on.
"I believe that Casey or someone else that she was with, possibly gave too much [medication] to Caylee, she fell asleep and didn't wake up. That's what I feel," stated George Anthony.
Cindy Anthony, however, acknowledged the possibility that Casey knew where Caylee was buried and might have helped place the 2-year-old's body there.
"I believe Casey knew or had knowledge of placing Caylee there," Cindy told McGraw. "I'm not justifying what Casey did. But until I find out what happened to Caylee and what happened to Casey that day, I have to live with what I know."
George added, "I think (Casey) was there and she probably had some help."
"Dr. Phil" aired parts one and two of the interview on September 13th and 14th, respectively, with a segment devoted to the murder trial of 25-year-old Casey Anthony to be aired later this month.
Casey is currently serving her probation on a check fraud conviction in Orange County, Fla.
On September 15, Judge Belvin Perry issued an order that Anthony must repay nearly $100,000 in costs related to the investigation of the disappearance and death of Caylee.
