Casey Anthony's Parents to Appear on Dr Phil

Daytime talk show personality Dr. Phil has interviewed the parents of Casey Anthony, the woman involved in one of the most controversial recent murder trials.

Cindy and George Anthony, the mother and father of Casey, who was on trial and acquitted for the murder of her daughter Caylee, will appear on the September 12 episode of “Dr.Phil,” participating in their first interview since the trial ended.

Dr. Phil described his experience with the Anthony’s in a recent press release.

“Cindy and George have suffered a horrific loss with the untimely death of their granddaughter Caylee, and they have since endured an unprecedented public attack on their family,” said Dr. Phil. “I looked them straight in the eye and asked some very tough questions.”

The talk show host goes on to explain how the Anthony’s have lived under a “media microscrope” for years. He feels their story has never really been told and that there is so much more to it than what we’ve heard in the media.

Cindy Anthony also commented on the interview in the release.

“We knew that we’d want to speak at some point, and we figured there was no better place than with Dr. Phil, said Anthony. We are hoping that by doing this interview, we will be able to help other people who may be experiencing troubles of their own.”

“We appreciate the way in which Dr. Phil has helped others, and we trust him enough to completely open our hearts in telling our story,” added George Anthony.

The father of Casey Anthony feels Dr. Phil is a professional who completely understands what they are going through as a family.

Casey Anthony was charged with the murder of her daughter Caylee after her skeletal remains were found in a plastic bag outside Anthony’s home in 2008.

Casey Anthony never reported her daughter missing and the police did not find out about the girl until Casey’s mother Cindy contacted them.

The trial began in May of 2011 and the prosecution claimed Casey Anthony used chloroform to put her daughter to sleep before suffocating her to death.

Her defense stated that Caylee had drowned in the family’s pool and that George Anthony covered the death up. They also added that George sexually abused Casey when she was a young girl.

George denied the claim on the witness stand.

The jury found Casey Anthony not guilty of murder.
