Casting Crowns To Release Sophomore Project In August

Multiple Dove Award-winners Casting Crowns will be releasing their highly anticipated sophomore project, Lifesong, on August 30. Lifesong is the follow up to the group’s self-titled debut album, which last year reached RIAA Platinum status (for sales of one million copies).

The album’s title, Lifesong, is a reference to the wealth of life experiences that Casting Crowns lead singer Mark Hall has either been through or witnessed from 14 years of being a youth pastor.

“From 14 years of being a youth pastor, if I haven’t been through it myself, I’ve been through it a hundred times with someone else,” Hall relates. “The songs are just about life, it’s where we all live.”

Once again produced by Mark Miller, frontman of country music sensation Sawyer Brown, Lifesong explores what an authentic life of worship looks like, desiring to ask the hard questions of why-are-you-doing-that, instead of just what-are-you-doing, according to a press release. The project’s first radio single, “Lifesong” is a paradigm example, Hall explains:

“It’s our kind of worship song-one that asks questions first. What is worship really? Why are you doing this? Worship is not a song, it’s the heart that lifts the song. It’s the motivation behind it. Life is worship, not singing.”

Casting Crowns will be promoting Lifesong with their first headlining tour this fall, The “Lifesong Tour” will visit 38 cities from September 29th through December 4th and will feature GMA’s reigning New Artist of the Year, Building 429 and Guest Speaker/Emcee for the night Tony Nolan.

In an unprecedented effort to make the show affordable for everyone, the band has desired that ticket prices remain very reasonable and will make them available to fans at www.castingcrowns.com.

Additionally, frontman Mark hall will be leading youth-worker clinics in several cities visited on the tour (to be determined). Some markets will hold an afternoon clinic on Saturdays and all others will have an intermission meeting with youth pastors.
