'Castle' Season 8 Spoilers: Rick Takes a Trip to LA

The upcoming episode of "Castle" season 8 is expected to have Rick Castle working with Alexis and Hayley.

It was reported that Castle will be taking his daughter Alexis, played by Molly Quinn, and his new partner Hayley, played by Toks Olagundoye, to Los Angeles. The three will be working on an investigation that will eventually lead them back to a murder case for NYPD.

There are speculations that despite the distance, Rick will still end up seeking help from Kate in order to help solve the mystery. Another mystery surrounding the couple that will be brought into the limelight for the episodes to come is Rick's disappearance in the previous season.

It was revealed that the series will be taking a step back by giving an explanation to Rick's absence during the wedding day in season 7 of "Castle." According to TV Line, his disappearance will be somewhat connected to his wife.

The executive producer of the series, Alexi Hawley, stated, "We haven't nailed the story down for it." Hawley added, "but we do like the idea that something that Castle came across during his missing time is actually why his memory was wiped — and it wasn't necessarily about the reason we showed in Season 7. And it does have something to do with Beckett. But we haven't nailed it all the way down yet."

Meanwhile, fans are raising their concerns about the upcoming episodes. Some took their rants to Twitter, expressing their confusion as to why the writers feel it is necessary to discuss Rick's disappearance. Some feel as though no one really cares about it because the story was not important anymore. A twitter user named @Buddy stated, "It has been so long since it has even come up at all that you have to bring up everybody up to date to what happened. It is a story best forgotten."

Nevertheless, "Castle" season 8 is expected to return this Feb. 1.
