'Castle' Season 8 Spoilers: EPs Address Kate Pregnancy Rumors

The executive producers of the series "Castle" have finally addressed the rumors regarding Kate's pregnancy.

Previous reports have been speculating that the lead of the series "Castle" will soon be pregnant in the upcoming episodes. However, executive producers Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley finally confirmed the details regarding the speculations.

They recently spoke to TV Line about Kate, played by Stana Katic, and their plans for the character. According to Hawley, they had already discussed the idea of Kate being pregnant earlier in the season, but Winter explained that having Kate pregnant in the return of season 8 will not do the show any good. Hawley said, "This was a question that came up at the beginning of the season, and for us, at least right now, we don't know how the show would work like that. I understand that other shows have done that, but for us, because Beckett is so 'boots on the ground,' kicking a** and taking names, it's hard to imagine what a pregnant Beckett solving cases look like."

With that, fans will just have to see where the story will go in the upcoming midseason finale titled "Tone Death." Corbin Bleu from "High School Musical" will be guest starring in the episode. He will be playing a character named Hunter Washington, who is the leader for an acapella group whose rival group saw the death of one of its singers. It was revealed that Rick and Kate will be handling the case in order to find out who the killer is.

However, Rick and Kate will also be dealing with their own issues. It was reported that they will struggle to keep their relationship a secret to their fellow work mates and family. Winter revealed some details about their relationship. He said, "They're basically keeping the face of their relationship as broken up, but in secret they will be staying together."

"Castle" season 8 is expected to return on ABC on Feb. 1.
