Catherine Zeta Jones New Movie Premieres, Bipolar Actress Shines
Catherine Zeta-Jones made waves with her red carpet appearance at the premiere of her latest film "Red 2" in Los Angeles on Thursday.
The 43-year-old actress wowed fans in black lace gown just three months after voluntarily checking herself into treatment for bipolar II disorder.
Marking her return to the red carpet, Zeta-Jones paired her Maria Lucia Hohan gown with high-heeled sandals by Jerome C. Rosseau.
While her husband Michael Douglas was absent from the "Red 2"premiere, Zeta-Jones explained that he was on the East Coast filming "And So It Goes," which also stars Diane Keaton.
Furthermore, Zeta-Jones noted that she also misses her children, Carys, 10, and Dylan, 12.
"My children are actually at sleep-away camp, so I'm missing them desperately," said the Welsh actress, according to USA Today.
Meanwhile, the award-winning actress has kept her bipolar condition at bay by keeping a close eye on it, and she periodically seeks professional care.
In late April, a representative for Zeta-Jones explained that the actress had checked herself into treatment voluntarily in order to maintain her best health.
"Catherine has proactively checked into a health care facility," the spokesperson told People magazine. "Previously, Catherine has said that she is committed to periodic care in order to manage her health in an optimum manner."
In the past, Zeta-Jones explained that intermittent professional care strengthens her commitment to remain healthy.
"This is a disorder that affects millions of people and I am one of them," the actress said while speaking to Extra. "If my revelation of having bipolar II has encouraged one person to seek help, then it is worth it. There is no need to suffer silently an there is no shame in seeking help."
Zeta-Jones has already had a busy year with her career. The actress appeared in the crime drama "Broken City" alongside Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe as well as "Side Affects" with Channing Tatum.
