Rascal Flatts' Caylee Anthony Song: She Stole Our Hearts
The band Rascal Flatts recorded a tribute song to Caylee Anthony titled “She’s Going Places.”
According to The Boot, Rascal Flatts' Gary LeVox teamed up with country comedian and radio host Cledus T. Judd and songwriter Jimmy Yeary to write a song for Caylee, perfomed by Shane Hines. The song debuted this Friday on the Nancy Grace show, but it was interrupted due to Grace’s emotional toll while it was playing.
The Rascal Flatts opens their new song with: "She was just a baby, barely two years old / A story that shouldn't have to be told / See that little girl with big brown eyes stole our hearts and touched our lives / Now we cry, 'cause we can't understand."
The soft melody concludes, “We will sing sweet Caylee’s praises/ She’s safe in the arms of God’s good graces / Yes, she’s going places.”
Caylee is the 2-year-old whose remains were found in the woods in Florida in December 2008. Her mother, Casey Anthony, was charged for first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child and providing false information to law enforcement. Her more than month-long trial that started in May received national attention, with much of the public seeking justice for the young toddler.
To the shock of the public, Anthony, 25, was found not guilty of murder due to lack of evidence. The jury only found her guilty of lying to law enforcement. Casey is slated to walk free on July 17.
