CBS Grammy Award Dress Code: No Thongs, Overexposure of Breast, Buttocks

CBS executives have placed a dress code on the 55th Grammy awards to ensure that the broadcast maintains family-friendly programming.

Deadline Hollywood was the first to report the memo that was sent out on Wednesday by the network. The memo reads: "Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered," the statement reads. "Thong-type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare, fleshy under-curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under-curvature of the breasts is also problematic."

In addition, the memo states that the genital region must be "adequately covered so that there is no visibly 'puffy' bare skin exposure" and "sheer, see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples," is inappropriate.

Commercial identification of brand name products and any organized cause visibly spelled out are to be avoided. The memo concluded "OBSCENITY OR PARTIALLY SEEN OBSCENITY ON WARDROBE IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR BROADCAST."

Public Relations Specialist Marcy Douglas is happy that CBS has decided to place a dress code on the music event. "It is about time that we have some standards and show some class. Some artists take it too far. I know that fashion is subjective but some people take it to the far left. Television needs to bring back morals and place a few limitations."

The 55th annual Grammy Awards will be held Sunday at 8 p.m. EST at Los Angles' Staples Center.
