CBS 'MacGyver' TV Series Reboot Finds its Lead Star in 'X-Men' Star Lucas Till
American action-adventure television series "MacGyver" is returning to the small screen soon. According to a report by Cinema Blend, network CBS has been in the works for a rebooted version of the series which starred Richard Dean Anderson as Angus MacGyver in 1985 to 1992.
And now, after months of searching for the right actor to lead the show, the network has finally found their new MacGyver. Comic Book Resources reported that "X-Men: Apocalypse" star Lucas Till has signed on to play the new and younger version of MacGyver. Lucas Till's other screen credits include "Hannah Montana: The Movie," "House," "Medium," and "Blue Mountain State."
The reboot will not precisely follow the original show as it will have some few big changes including the age that MacGyver will be introduced at. Slash Film noted that the series will be made as a prequel that will pick up with the character in his younger days in a modern-day setting.

It will follow MacGyver who is enlisted into the secret organization from the original series, known as the Department of External Service (DXS). And though he is younger, his exceptional talent for solving problems using his uncanny and eccentric methods will still be there to stop disasters from taking place.
Joining Till in the show will be Joshua Boone who will play as MacGyver's high school best friend, Gunner. George Eads is also joining the cast as Lincoln, a very kind and legit government employee as well as an eccentric conspiracy theorist.
There is no information yet on who else will be joining the show and which characters will be part of it again but Movie Web stated that "Furious 7" director James Wan is serving as executive producer together with Henry Winkler, who produced the original series, Michael Clear and Lee David Zlotoff, the original series creator. The pilot episode is set to be filmed soon but there is no exact date yet.
