Cece Winans and Pure Springs Gospel Rack Up Nine Stellar Award Nominations
The nominees for the 20th Annual Stellar Awards were recently announced in Houston, TX.
CeCe Winans and her label, PureSprings Gospel, received a total of nine nominations. Winans RIAA certified gold CD, Throne Room, was bestowed with six of the top nominations: Song of the Year- Hallelujah Praise, Female Vocalist of the Year, CD of the Year-Throne Room, Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year, Contemporary CD of the Year, and Recorded Music Packaging of the Year . Winans launched, PureSprings Gospel in 1999 with the release of Alabaster Box, which went on to become a platinum selling CD. Five years later, PurseSprings has added to its roster, Born Again Church Choir, Vickie Yohe, and recently added Delores Mom Winans whose current CD Hymns From The Heart hit the retail bins on October 19th. The 2003 release of Throne Room (PureSprings/Epic/INO) marks Winans sixth solo CD. With her seventh release expected in 2005 and a host of exciting ventures in the works, Winans fans can rest assure they will see and hear more of this gospel crooner, whose on a mission to keep ministry first.
Also acquiring a few Stellar Award nods was Winans home church choir, Born Again. CeCe Winans Presents: The Born Again Choir was released on her PureSprings label in 2003. The vocally powerful and anointed choir was honored with three nominations: New Artist of the Year, Choir of the Year and Contemporary Choir of the Year.
Winans will also be a part of the all-star line-up planned for the awards ceremony set to tape on Saturday, January15, 2005. The televised broadcast will return to Houstons George R. Brown Convention Center for the second consecutive year.
