Celebrities Support New Pro-Abortion Campaign 'Draw the Line'
Many of Hollywood's biggest stars expressed their support for a new pro-abortion campaign aimed at furthering the cause of women's reproductive choices. Conservatives blame the increase in advocacy for abortion on political measures being taken by legislators around the country.
Paul E. Rondeau, executive director of the American Life League, had stated that with the increase in campaigns advocating for the termination of life that it is time for conservatives to stand up and fight for those without a voice.
"This is the most abortion-addicted administration in my lifetime and I've seen quite a few presidents … We have to change the culture of death mentality and the exceptions-case mentality in Washington," Rondeau previously told The Christian Post.
The new star-chocked campaign, "Draw The Line," was created by the Center for Reproductive Rights and was launched to further support the centers' own Bill of Reproductive Rights.

The campaign is primarily focused on stifling those opposed to the Affordable Care Act, which would force employers to cover contraception as well as provide funding for abortifacients.
The celebrities who threw their support behind this new campaign have distinguished careers: Meryl Streep, Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, Amy Poehler, Lisa Kudrow, Tea Leoni, Sarah Silverman and others are included. The Hollywood stars paint abortion as an "essential" need of women everywhere.
"Every day, the opponents of our fundamental reproductive rights are passing laws designed to take those rights away," Streep said in a promotional video for the campaign. "They're shutting down doctors and clinics across the nation. They're making it nearly impossible for millions of women to get the essential healthcare they need."
The campaign stresses that pro-life supporters are trying to fundamentally undermine pro-abortion legislation in this country and are using "political tactics" to achieve their goal. Examples of this could be seen in Colorado's "personhood" legislation, which would have defined life as beginning at conception. It failed to pass among constituents, however.
"It's time that a women's right to safe and accessible reproductive health care be safeguarded from the political tactics of those who seek to chip it away. It's time for women and men to send a strong message to lawmakers across the country that we are drawing the line," the campaign posted on their website.
But as pro-life apologist Calvin Freiburger argues, the "rights" that are claimed to be restricted amount to nothing more than an attempt to shift focus from the real harm caused by these actions.
"I've long believed abortion apologists vitriol and indignation were calculated efforts to draw attention away from the utter horror of the practice they so cherish, because of the obvious strategic value in framing the issue around the alleged harm they want to prevent rather than the actual harm they cause," Freiburger told LlifeNews.com.
