Celine Dion Finally Opens Up About Her Life After Losing René Angélil

Four months after laying her husband down to rest, Celine Dion has finally opened up her heart and shared how life has been after René Angélil passed away.

In an exclusive interview with People, Dion shared how she had to pull off a final show of strength just to make sure her husband passed away in peace. "I closed the door, so the children won't sense anything. I got on my knees and I kissed him. It was the coldest thing I've ever experienced in my life, but it was amazing," she said.

While she referred to the 73-year-old as the "love of my life," she had to let him go. As she bid him farewell, Dion assured Angélil that she and their three boys will be okay. For decades, she saw how Angélil tried to battle cancer with his life and for her, the suffering had to end.

Angélil died of throat cancer on January 14, after battling the disease for decades. Dion was doing a show at Caesars Palace the night before her husband died and before getting on stage, Angélil reminded her of his love and care as he said "I wish you a great show, and I love you."

Dion has been married to the prominent producer since 1994 and they share three children together: René Charles, 15, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 5 and a half.

According to E! News, Angélil met Dion when she was only 12 years old and since then, the two have become partners in the industry. The veteran musical producer paved the way for Dion to become one of the world's most legendary and acclaimed performers.

Since her twins were too young to understand their father's passing, Dion had to explain in such a way that they wouldn't be worried or afraid of doctors and hospitals. In another interview with ABC News, the Canadian singer said she reminded the young boys of the movie "Up."

While death is imminent, she wanted her children to understand that "Up is a good thing. Up is uplifting." The young kids then understood and with Dion, they released balloons into the sky in memory of their father.

Despite missing Angélil a lot, Dion also said that she wants to be a strong mother for her children. The "My Heart Will Go On" singer now feels at peace and is trying her best to raise her kids well as a single parent.
