Celine Dion News: Fans Around the World Give Love and Support to Celine
Celine Dion may had the worst week of her life last week, after her husband, Réne Angélil, and brother, Daniel Dion, died just two days apart. Her fans from around the world gave their support to the singer, and Celine is thankful for the pouring love.
According to People, thousands of fans went to the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, Canada to give their final respects to Celine's late husband, as well as give their condolences to the singer. The website even said that the mourners waited outside the parish in the freezing cold for around three hours or more, just to honor the late music manager during the public viewing. The couple are considered their state's pride, and are considered beloved Canadian icons.
"The support we've received has been such a blessing," Celine told the website. According to the report, Celine stayed at the basilica until the service ended late last night, Jan. 21, where she was joined by her two step-sons, Patrick and Jean-Pierre. Celine and Rene have three sons together, namely René-Charles, Eddy, and Nelson.
Réne's funeral is scheduled later today, Jan. 22, at the same church.
Meanwhile, People also revealed earlier that Celine will be back to work soon after her husband's funeral. The website said that the Canadian icon is currently scheduled to perform on Feb. 23 at the Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. A source told the website that it is something that Réne would want her to do, which is coming back to Las Vegas and perform. "He knew her better than anybody and he probably knows that's what she needs too, to perform," the source added.
Prior to her husband's passing, the 47-year-old singer has rarely left Réne's side, and she did not travel anywhere in case anything happens to him. Going back to work seems to be Celine's way to mend her broken heart after the devastating loss of both her husband and her brother.
