CES 2016 News: Samsung's Smart TV Wins Best of Innovation Award for Accessibility
The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016 is fast approaching, but even before the event starts on January, Samsung has already emerged as a winner. The South Korean company has announced that it has won a CES 2016 Best of Innovation Award for one of its smart TVs.
In a press release dated Dec. 27 and published on its official site, Samsung announced that one of its smart TVs has won the CES 2016 Best of Innovation Award in the Accessible Tech category. Which TV this is will be revealed on Jan. 5, 2016 in Las Vegas during CES 2016.
The award recognizes new features that Samsung believes will enhance TV viewing experience. These features include Voice Guidance that allows users to use their "normal conversational voice" to interact with the smart TV, Amplify function that enhances high-frequency sounds for clarity, and Clear Voice function that adjusts frequency of voices to make them easier to hear. The company also boasts of the smart TV's enhanced readability, as a result of a new graphical user interface.
"Designing a television that offers the best possible picture quality and is accessible for all our customers is something we aim to achieve with all our SUHD and Smart TV models," said John Ryu, vice president of visual display business at Samsung Electronics. "We are proud to have our Smart TV recognized for offering best in class accessibility by the CES Innovation Awards. We will continue to introduce new ways that allow all consumers to enjoy the best TV viewing experience possible."
Samsung took home 80 CES Innovations Awards last year, too, not only for its TV but also for its other products like mobile phone, tablet, software, home appliance, and more.
The annual CES Innovation Awards honors consumer technology products that show outstanding design and engineering. CES Innovation Awards 2016 honorees will be exhibited in the Innovation Awards Showcase located at Tech West in the Sands, Level 1, Hall G, Booth #83319.
