Coming into the extra period, the German club already had momentum on their side, given their previous strong finishes. It was then when the finishing attacks of midfielder Thiago Alcantara and winger Kingsley Coman that gave Bayern the 4-2 lead, until time expired.

A couple of Bayern's players were in a brief state of disbelief after their comeback and eventual victory.

Muller described the contest as a "crazy game", adding that giving up was not an option for the team, despite being down 2-0.

Team captain Philipp Lahm, on the other hand, noted how evenly-matched both teams are, and their respective performances that night was proof to it.

"What an unbelievable evening," Lahm said. "You could see how tight things are when two top teams meet each other. We knew it would be all over if we had conceded a third goal."

For their part, Juventus recognized the fact that what resulted in their defeat was dependent on how football results "depend on chances".

"They attacked a lot in the second half and took advantage of their chances," said veteran and Juventus team captain Gigi Buffon. "It's always a pity to concede a goal in the last minute of a game, but I'm proud of my team."

The report adds that Bayern FC manager Pep Guardiola is expecting to face the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris St-Germain after the quarter-final draw on Friday.
