Chapman Readies New Team for New Album
Steven Curtis Chapman has announced his fourteenth record All Things New will release on September 21, 2004.
The album was partially inspired by sermons from his pastor and the writings of John Piper and Philip Yancey.
"Lately I've come to realize that God will forever be making all things new,” reflected Chapman. “I'm only starting to know who God really is because He continues to reveal more and more of Himself to me every day. He gives us new seasons, He gives us a new 24 hours each day, He gives us a new sunrise. All of these things continue to remind us that He is the renewer of all things."

Going along the theme of newness, Chapman even enlisted new co-workers to participate in the upcoming album. Those new to the team will are Trina Shoemaker, the engineer of Chapman’s project, who has worked with Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris, Joe Cocker and The Neville Brothers and a new line-up of studio musicians including: Lyle Workman, guitar (Lisa Marie Presley, Sheryl Crow), Chris Chaney, bass guitar (Celine Dion, Alanis Morissette), Matt Chamberlain, drums (Elton John, John Mayer, Faith Hill), George Cochini, guitar (Third Day, Anointed), and Patrick Warren, keyboards (Jewel, Michelle Branch).
Peter York, President, EMI CMG Label Group, said the title of the album “reflects the theme associated with this new project, and also encompasses the participation of a virtually and entirely new creative team made up of some of the finest musicians and production personnel in the music industry today."
He has known Chapman to be consistent is applying his faith to all areas of his life.

Upon releasing his new album "All Things New", Chapman will also embark on a 65-city tour to promote it. However, concert songs will not be only limited to those on his new album but also feature past hits as well. The tour is scheduled to begin in October 2004 with an opening performance by sixstepsrecords artist Chris Tomlin and Beach Street Records group Casting Crowns and run until April 2005.
