Charlie Sheen Gives $75K to Kid Battling Cancer
Charlie Sheen seems to be in the holiday spirit after it became known that he donated $75,000 to help a young girl in her fight against cancer.
Reports indicate that Sheen was in a conversation with a gentleman from the Hermosa Beach Police Department in California when the officer revealed his 10-year old daughter's fight against cancer. Being touched by the officer's story, Sheen donated the $75,000 to a fund benefiting the girl.
The young girl, Jasmine Faulk, 10, has been receiving chemotherapy treatment since October after she underwent surgery for childhood rhabdomyosarcoma, according to a family blog that has been documenting her situation. The blog also indicated that she had her first round of radiation therapy recently.
According to the blog, Jasmine wants to be a nurse, and the money raised on her behalf will go to see that she is able to work to fulfill her dream.
"Big news today for the Faulk family. Together, Eddie Braun and Charlie Sheen donated $100,000.00 to the HBPOA in support of Jasmine's fight against cancer," read a post on the fund's Facebook page.
"All proceeds go to the Faulk family to support their daughter. On behalf of the HBPOA, the Faulk family and those who support children fighting cancer, we thank you for your generous donation."
The donation came soon after Sheen met the Hermosa Beach officer and was made aware of the girl's condition. Her reportedly stated that "no parent should have to watch their kid go through that," according to TMZ.
But it seems as if Sheen's generosity is contagious as his stunt double, Eddie Braun, kicked in another $25,000 to the same fund benefiting Faulk.
The generosity of Sheen comes soon after he gave $100,000 to Lindsay Lohan to help the young starlet with her trouble with the IRS for owing over $200,000 in back taxes.
