Charlie Sheen Quits Twitter, Promises Next Endeavor Will Be 'Epic'
Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen has officially quit Twitter. The former Two and a Half Men star promised to quit less than two days ago, and it now seems as if Sheen went through with his word.
Sheen is hugely popular on the social networking site and will be disappointing his 7.7 million followers.
In his final and departing tweet Sheen said, "Reach for the stars everyone. Dogspeed cadre. c out."
The actor only launched his Twitter account in March 2011, and used the site during his very public meltdown soon after. He was fired from hit TV sitcom Two and a Half Men after rebuking his bosses repeatedly in public. After his firing he used his Twitter account to continue his rants, and gained a huge following on the social networking site in the process.
His followers were treated to regular pearls of wisdom according to the life and mind of Charlie Sheen, and his rebellious, tongue in cheek humor continued to gain him followers. His followers have been able to observe his rehabilitation following his meltdown, and were also able to get the latest directly from Sheen on his new comeback show "Anger Management."
No reason was given by Sheen for giving up on Twitter, but he is just the latest in a long line of celebrities who have given up the social networking site permanently or for a short period. Many believe it is simply a way for celebrities to get more attention for themselves.
Charlie Sheen said today, "Thank you all for your amazing support. Trust me when I say please 'follow' me to my next endeavor. It's gonna be epic," according to celebrity rumor site TMZ.
