Charlie Sheen Thanks Ashton Kutcher for '10th Life'

Charlie Sheen is giving his thanks to where it’s owed, acknowledging Ashton Kutcher as his career savior.

The troubled actor recently told TMZ that if Kutcher had not replaced him on the much beloved sitcom “Two and A Half Men,” he would never have been able to kick-start his career, which had been rapidly on the decline because of his substance abuse and women troubles.

Kutcher, who officially signed on with the show in May, was chosen to take over the comedic reins after Sheen had been fired from the CBS show in the middle of its eighth season for publicly criticizing the show’s creator, Chuck Lorre.

It is rumored that Sheen’s character “Charlie Harper” will be killed off during the two-part premiere of the ninth season, which may start with a funeral, and that “Walden Schmidt” played by Kutcher will be introduced.

Kutcher will play a broken-hearted Internet millionaire who purchases Harper’s beach home after Harper’s death according to CBS President Nina Tassler, Reuters reported. Real-life celebrities are also purportedly going to bid for the home as well.

“I can’t replace Charlie Sheen but I’m going to work my a*# off to entertain the hell out of people!” Kutcher said in a statement according to Entertainment Weekly.

Sheen, sharing his thoughts about his death on the show, told TMZ that the funeral exit would add closure to his story. He also stated, “I have always been told that I have 9 lives, so it’s going to be amazing to witness my own funeral which is clearly a win/win situation because Ashton has just given me a 10th.”

His 10th life will include a new sitcom called “Anger Management,” based loosely on the movie, and will revolve around a man who is forced to attend anger management sessions, which the 45-year-old actor is no stranger of.

He was previously sentenced to anger management after he was arrested late 2009 for assaulting his ex-wife Brooke Mueller, according to The Associated Press. Sheen pleaded guilty and was given 30 days of rehabilitation, 36 hours of anger management, and 30 days of probation.

Hoping for a fresh start, Sheen is excited for the new life thanks to Kutcher, and will be “[moving] on to greener pastures,” the CBS president told TheWrap.

How the unstable actor will respond to this newfound opportunity, only time will tell.
