Charlie Sheen's Snowboarding Accident Deemed a Twitter Death Hoax
Actor Charlie Sheen is alive and well.
Recent rumors surfaced that the actor died during a snowboarding accident in Switzerland, but they were proven false.
The news spread on Twitter and Internet news websites late Thursday, but fans –use to reading about false death rumors online– were skeptical of the news.

“Detroit radio personality and sports columnist Terry Foster asked listeners if it was true that Sheen had died in a snowboarding accident,” according to The Oakland Press. “Later, he noted the hoax on his Twitter feed, @TerryFoster971, tweeting: ‘Yes this is the second time Charlie Sheen died in a snow board accident. We will find out the truth later on.’”
According to the website Gossip Cop, a group called "Global Associated News" claimed that Charlie Sheen died Thursday, but it was all just a prank.
Due to Sheen’s reportedly troubled personal life, false rumors of his death are a regular occurrence. Reports of his death quickly also spread throughout the Internet earlier this year.
The 46-year-old actor’s drug and alcohol abuse and run-ins with the law were heavily publicized after his arrest on Oct. 26, 2010 at the Plaza Hotel in New York.
After several other bizarre incidents and interviews, Sheen was eventually fired from his hit show “Two and a Half Men” in March 2011.
The rumors of Sheen’s death comes just days after comedian Patrice O’Neal passed away. The comedian recently appeared on the "Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen" in September and poked fun at the star with other guests.
In reaction to O’Neal’s death, Sheen released a statement that read: "The world at large lost a brilliant man today…My tears today are for the tremendous loss to his true friends and loving family. "
