'Charlie's Angels' Reboot Cast News: Kristen Stewart, Lupita Nyong'o In Talks to Topbill Project
"Twilight" star Kristen Stewart is reportedly being eyed to join the cast of the "Charlie's Angels" reboot, and rumor has it that Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o is also in talks to star in the project. The reboot will be directed by "Pitch Perfect 2" director Elizabeth Banks and is slated for release on June 7, 2019.
According to reports, Stewart will play one of the three women working for a private detective agency. The actress is not the only one being linked to the project, as Kenyan-Mexican actress Nyong'o, who starred in "12 Years a Slave," is also reportedly being considered for a role in the upcoming reboot.
Both camps have yet to comment on the new casting reports, but whether or not the two actresses are joining the project, the "Charlie's Angels" reboot is expected to draw as much public attention as the previous movies. The franchise first became popular as a TV series. It had a five-season run on ABC from September 1976 to June 1981 before it was adapted into film in 2000.

The 2000 "Charlie's Angels" film starred Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu as the unseen Charlie Townsend's three Angels, and the movie became a massive success, earning $264.1 million at the global box office. Although the 2003 sequel "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" did not turn out to be as domestically successful as the first movie, it still managed to earn $259.2 million worldwide.
Meanwhile, Stewart is set to appear in Justin Kelly's "JT Leroy" biopic, as well as in the William Eubank-directed thriller movie "Underwater." The said projects are the actress' only major films after top-billing "Snow White and the Huntsman" since she focused on doing indie movies the past few years. On the other hand, Nyong'o will appear in Disney/Marvel superhero movie "Black Panther" and "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," which are slated for release in February 2018 and Dec. 15, respectively.
