Cheap iPads, iPods and iPhones are Most Popular Items for Kids This Christmas (VIDEO)
According to a recent Neilson survey, when it comes to electronic products this holiday season, Apple products surpass all other brands, with the iPad specifically leading the way.
The study found that the iPad was deemed the most favorite tech product among children between the ages of 6 and 12 for the 2011 holiday season.
This interest in the iPad eclipses the interest in the product shown by the same age grouping in 2010, with an increase to 44 percent of the kids expressing a desire to acquire the product up from 31 percent last year.
The iPod Touch at 30 percent and the iPhone at 27 percent were the second and third most popular items for kids this year. Computers and tablet brands registered 25 percent combined.
Popular choices for young people this year as well are gaming devices, and Nintendo 3DS received a 25 percent favorability with Kinect for Xbox 360 receiving 23 percent.
Older brands such as Nintendo DS models still attract youngsters with favorability registering at 22 percent, while PlayStation 3 getting 17 percent of the nods and Xbox 360 at 16 percent. Nintendo Wii received a favorability of 11 percent on the list.
The survey is good news for Apple which sees its brand continue to dominate the highly valued Christmas holiday market.
