Recent meetings with Steve Clarke's squad have proven unfruitful, but history may be on the Blues' side given that West Brom has not won at Stamford Bridge since 1978.

On-loan Romelu Lukaku is ineligible to play against Chelsea and fellow striker Shane Long is a doubt after suffering an ankle injury against Sunderland.
Left back Goran Popov is also unavailable as he continues to serve a three game ban for the red card he received against Tottenham.
