Chicago Bears' Chris Harris Preaches on Twitter

Chris “The Hitman” Harris, a veteran safety for the Chicago Bears, took to his Twitter account on Monday to express his love for God and Jesus Christ.

“BREAKING NEWS: God is AWESOME,” Harris wrote. “Now back to whatever you were doing."

However, the 29-year-old did not stop there. Harris told close to 28,000 twitter followers about seeking God to find happiness.

"No matter how much you search for happiness it's impossible to find without GOD," he posted soon after writing his breaking news. "Seek God in your heart, do it before some danger or affliction leaves you no other option."

Unafraid to lose any of his following on the social media platform, Harris told his supporters to cease following him on Twitter if they were offended by his faith. He also described people without faith.

"If you're not a believer in Jesus Christ I might not be the person for you to follow because I will proclaim HIM as the King of all Kings," Harris wrote. "Basically people without faith are exactly like men born blind. If a friend tells them about "Light" they say, prove it to me or light is only a myth."

One Twitter follower named “Snobes” decided to take Harris’ advice.

“For that reason, I’m gonna have to unfollow, good luck this season,” the follower wrote.

However, another follower by the name of willycav116 did the exact opposite. The tweeter decided to follow Harris after reading that he spoke about his faith so freely.

“I just followed you because you believe in God,” the new follower wrote. “Keep preaching it bro!”

However, the entire exchange did not seem to phase Harris, who also spent the day posting his favorite worship songs on his Twitter account.

"Im not saying you have to agree or like what I say but what I am saying is you will be respectful and if you cant do that you will be BLOCKED," Harris wrote. "Who cares if i’m unliked or unfollowed on Twitter because of my belief of God…GOD>YOU.”

Harris was one of the first safeties to start in 16 games for the Chicago Bears since 2001, according to The Chicago Tribune. Jon Hoke, defensive back coach for the Chicago Bears said Harris is not only a vital player, but an influence to his teammates.

“He's the best," Hoke told The Chicago Tribune. "He's a great mentor to those guys. He enjoys doing that. He's a team guy and a football guy."
