As the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs continue, the Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild meet in Round 2 of the Western Conference playoffs. The match is at the United Center and is on May 1, 2015 at 9:30 p.m. ET.
Chicago began their post-season with a series against the Nashville Predators and it was a tough task as the Predators were having a superb season.
However, that didn't stop the Blackhawks from winning the series 4-2. They were very impressive as they used their veteran experience to topple Nashville.
In their series-clinching game, the Blackhawks had to endure a quick start from the Predators as they immediately found themselves down 2-0 less than 10 minutes into the game.
Patrick Sharp responded with a goal in the 11th minute to cut the deficit to one but Chicago conceded again less than a minute later.
In true Chicago fashion, they were able to score two more goals late in the first period to end the frame tied 3-3.
And with both teams looking for a winner, Duncan Keith provided for Chicago as he scored with less than four minutes remaining in the game to give them the 4-3 win and a seat in the next round.
Meanwhile, the Wild opened their playoffs against a higher-seeded opponent in the St. Louis Blues.
Minnesota proved their worth as they took the first game away from home and kept their foot on the pedal as they never trailed in the series.
St. Louis managed to tie the series twice but Minnesota took the last two games to eliminate their rivals 4-2.
Now they face-off against a tough Blackhawks team as Chicago won their regular season series 3-2.
The Blackhawks won the first two meetings before Minnesota took the final two which is a great indicator on how good this series may be.
