At the moment, the Bulls are at 14-8 and are second in the Central Division behind the Cleveland Cavaliers. Their current run has seen them close the gap against their rivals and Chicago are only behind by 1.5 games. They are also trying to create bigger space between them and third-placed Indiana Pacers because at the moment, they only have a half a game advantage.
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies are trying to catch up to the top two teams in the Southwest Division of the Western Conference which is being led by the San Antonio Spurs. They are 7.0 games behind the leaders but are only half a game behind the Dallas Mavericks who are second in the group. A win here may very well see them tie the Texas squad for second in the league.
Both teams have veteran leadership and stars that can carry them to victory on any given night.
Chicago has Jimmy Butler and Pau Gasol, who have been very reliable so far this season, and Nikola Mirotic is proving to be a reliable scorer for the Bulls. Derrick Rose may be struggling, but no one can deny that he can explode at any time and lead the team to a win.
On the other hand, Marc Gasol is still one of the best centers in the league and Mike Conley is a very underrated point guard who can carry the load when needed. When they play at their best, it is difficult to stop the grinding game that the Grizzlies possess.
