At the moment, the Bulls are second in the Central Division with an 18-12 record. They are behind the Cleveland Cavaliers in the standings and are only 1.0 games ahead of the Indiana Pacers who are third.
Despite their standings, the Bulls have had a lot of issues lately and are far from the dangerous club they once were only a few seasons ago. They are struggling to find consistency and their defence has taken a huge hit since the change of personnel in their coaching department.
Furthermore, their stars have had off nights too often as players like Derrick Rose, Pau Gasol and Jimmy Butler are assigned to play big roles for the team but have not been able to deliver as often as they want due to unforeseen issues.
On the other side, the Knicks are going through a positive run as compared to their previous seasons. They are now third in the Atlantic Division with a 15-18 record and are behind the Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics who are first and second, respectively.
At times, the Knicks have shown promise as a progressive team but need to find the right playing style to ensure that they consistently win games.
This is their second meeting of the season, with the Knicks winning the first at home 107-91.
