Today's match up will see Jon Lester and Gio Gonzalez go head to head as the starters for the two teams in this NLDS Game 2.

Lester was disappointed not to be fit enough to make Game 1; a sore left shoulder kept him sidelined.
He has said, "It's kind of different walking in and not having anything to do and not worry about anything. Took the late bus for the first time [to Game 1]."
He added, "Obviously it's not ideal. As a competitor, you always want to ... you work for these games. But at the same time, it's kind of nice to sit back and let other guys handle it."
Meanwhile, the Nationals will be sending out left-hander Gio Gonzalez, who has recorded 79 walks this season, which is the second most in the MLB.
Despite that, Gonzalez does not often allow baserunners. He has recorded a WHIP of 1.18, which is enough to rank him 15th in the MLB. That as well as his ERA of 2.96, which ranks him 7th in the MLB, means he is more than capable of making life difficult for the Cubs today.
