'Chicago Fire' Season 4 News: Popular Series Renewed for New Season
NBC has renewed the drama series "Chicago Fire" for another season, as announced last Feb. 5. The series about the lives and struggles of a group of firefighters and paramedics working at the Chicago Fire Department.
Season 4 has yet to get an official air date, as Season 3 of the series is still underway on NBC.
There is no official announcement yet about casting but it is expected that most of the current cast of the show, especially the main characters, will return for another season. As it is, Season 3 is rife with new rivalries and conflicts between the show's characters, as well as new love interests and angles. Recent casting news say that Warren Christie, who will join the March 10 episode as a new squad member and friend of Lt. Kelly Severide, is likely to come back as a regular cast member in the next season, according to TVLine.

"Chicago Fire" in its current season, continues to have "crossovers" to other NBC shows such as the "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and its spin-off show "Chicago P.D." As announced by NBC also in February, another spin-off is in the pipeline which will be called "Chicago Med."
"Chicago Med," according to TVLine, will have a "planted pilot" in Episode 19 of the current season which will feature one of the characters in "Chicago Med" who becomes a love interest of Chicago Fire's Lt. Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney). TVLine also called the show a "procedural poised to launch 1,000 spin-offs."
"Chicago Fire" joins other renewed series on NBC such as "Grimm," "The Blacklist," "SVU," and "Chicago P.D."
At the end of its second season in May 2014, the show was ranked number 31 in audience share for TV Season 2013-2014, with over 9,700,000 viewers according to Deadline.
