'Chicago Fire' Season 4 Spoilers: Another Bump in the Road for 'Dawsey'
The drama television series "Chicago Fire" is almost at the end of its Season 4 run, with only three episodes left that will conclude in the season finale on May 17. As the season comes to an end, fans are still not sure about the real status of the relationship between two main characters in the show, Lieutenant Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Firefighter Gabriela Dawson (Monica Raymund) of Truck 81. According to a TVLine report, however, the Dawson-Casey relationship or "Dawsey" will hit another major bump in the road.
With Casey taking his burgeoning political career seriously as he is running for alderman, he is working closely with political consultant Susan Weller (Lauren Stamile). According to Jesse Spencer, the actor who plays Casey, the chemistry between the two of them is quite obvious from the start although they try to deny that it exists. Dawson on the other hand will not like this arrangement as she has her own doubts about the intentions of Weller.
The TVLine report featured an interview with the show's executive producer Matt Olmstead who talked about the future of Dawsey in the upcoming episodes. According to Olmstead, Dawson will be making a decision that will have major implications on the relationship and this may have to do with a foster child that she will encounter in the coming episode. Taking care of the young boy, even temporarily, will definitely have a huge dent on Dawsey.
Dawson's brother Antonio will also be in the middle of things as his sister tries to make the decision. Seeing that she is serious and Casey is having his doubts about the arrangements, he bravely asks Casey some questions that should have been asked before such as: "Are you involved or not? Are you guys a couple or not? And if not, then cut the ties, once and for all, and let her go live her life."
According to another report in Cartermatt, while the focus of the next episode will be on Dawson, there are other interesting things happening to the rest of the cast as well. The episode's synopsis says that Lt. Severide (Taylor Kinney) will get the political help of Casey in order to push for new fire masks, while Cruz (Joe Minoso) and Brett (Kara Killmer) will continue to convince Otis (Yuri Sardarov) to finally get a blood test to find out what is really happening to him.
Episode 21, entitled "Kind of a Crazy Idea" will air on May 3, Monday on NBC.
