'Chicago Fire' Season 5 Episode 16 Spoilers: Boden Handles Hostage-Taking Incident in Headquarters

Boden (Eamonn Walker) and his firefighters will be involved in a messy hostage-taking incident in the upcoming episode of "Chicago Fire."

In the episode titled "Telling Her Goodbye," the synopsis (according to TV Guide) reveals that armed gang members will seek refuge in Firehouse 51 during a turf war. All the firefighters inside will be taken hostage when the intruders assume control of the place. There is nothing more the firemen can do but wait for the authorities to sort things out. Unfortunately, things start to get out of hand when one of the gang members becomes wounded. As trained paramedics, some of Boden's men can do first aid, but will the patient's friends allow them to do so?

The sneak peek released shows Mouch (Christian Stolte) and the others being confined in a room. Boden appears to be negotiating with the gang leader. The wounded man was shot. He is bleeding profusely. Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) volunteers to help. She explains that she is qualified to do so and that she only needs some medical supplies so she can start. The leader warns her that if she is planning to do anything rash, he will kill her. Boden and the others cannot do anything as they are being held at gunpoint.

When the others are asked to leave, Boden stays and talks with the gang leader. He tells the young man that although the gang has control of Firehouse 51, Boden is still in-charge of his men. As long as the gang members are kept in line, Boden will make sure his firefighters will do the same. The leader appears to be considering the chief's words. He is obviously under stress, as the other gang may locate them and cause more problems. He has only one choice, really – to accept Boden's offer of a truce.

"Chicago Fire" season 5 airs Tuesdays, 10 p.m. EDT on NBC.
