'Chicago Fire' Season 6 Spoilers, Cast: Love Interests for Two Characters Teased; Major Death Hinted in Latest Images
Love will definitely be in the air for some of the firefighters when the highly anticipated "Chicago Fire" season 6 rolls around.
Executive producer Derek Haas teased to Entertainment Weekly that Otis (Yuri Sardarov) will have a lot going on in the romance department.
Haas hinted that what Otis will be up to in "Chicago Fire" season 6 will not only lead to him finding someone special but also a big change for the bar Molly. He explains:
Where Otis and Cruz and Brett (Kara Kilmer) live, there's a bar — Mac's Bar — that has a going out of business sign in the window, and they go to see if they could possibly buy some equipment.
Then Otis starts to get the idea of maybe it's time to build a Molly's North. And you can imagine what problems — I mean victories — that's going to have for him. And there might be the daughter of Mac, her name is Lily, who is co-owner of that bar and Otis thinks is his type.
Severide (Taylor Kinney) will also get lucky in love come "Chicago Fire" season 6 with the arrival of Brett's (Kara Killmer) hometown friend, Hope (Eloise Mumford), whom Haas described as a "a very cute, fun, small-town girl who is a little bright lights, big city coming to Chicago." Hope ends up liking what Brett is doing and sets out to "gain favor amongst our firefighters."
However, Haas also noted that apart from Hope, Severide will also flirt with Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) "through this season" so it is looking like he will not be lonely this year.
In a separate interview with TVLine, the EP hinted that Severide has been "comforted by half of the women of Chicago" following the death of Anna (Charlotte Sullivan).
Before all the cheesy stuff, however, "Chicago Fire" season 6 will first have to deal with the fallout of the factory fire in the season finale.
NBC has shared promotional images for the new season, showing the complete cast. This gives the impression that everyone will come out alive despite indications that a major death is coming.
It is speculated that Casey (Jesse Spencer) is biting the dust, but his huge presence in the images has fans believing that he will survive after all.
This is based on the network's tendency to leave out characters whose fate is sealed already. Fans will remember that NBC promoted the third season with images where Shay (Lauren German) was excluded, despite her fate still unclear in the season 2 finale.
The character ended up being killed off in the season 3 premiere. If this is the case with the latest promo for the next season, then everyone might get to see another day after all.
"Chicago Fire" season 6 premieres Thursday, Sept. 28, on NBC.
