Chicken Nugget Shaped Like George Washington Sells for $8,100 (PHOTO)

A Nebraska woman is $8,100 richer thanks to a 99-cent Chicken Nugget shaped like George Washington.

According to Rebekah Speight, the owner of the famed nugget, "I looked down at the McNugget and just started laughing. I saw this portrait of George Washington staring back at me." Speight then decided to list the nugget on eBay in order to raise money to send kids from the local Sioux City Family Worship Center to camp in Iowa.

At first, though, the nugget was just enjoyed by family and friends.

"This became a show and tell item for friends and family who came to visit, and have responded with awe and laughter over this remarkable find." Speight revealed that she would only bring the nugget out for viewing on special occasions.

Eventually, though, Speight realized that she could use the nugget to help raise funds for the youth at the Worship Center. The nugget drew worldwide interest. "There are stories from Australia, the United Kingdom, Pakistan- just all over," Speight told the Sioux City Journal.

"We just screamed," after receiving the first bid, Speight told The Journal. "We don't know who it is or where they're from. That bid came within the first hour."

The bids just kept coming in and finally reached $8,100. Speight then decided to close the bidding and donate the money to the Worship Center.

"It's not one of those things you think would get money," Speight explained. "But people put crazy stuff on there (eBay) all the time. For me, it's more the nature of raising money for the kids and not about the McNugget."

As part of the eBay listing, Speight noted: "Not only will you have an opportunity to be the new owner of this rare find, but you will be investing in the lives of children."

There is no word of who the lucky winner actually is, but Speight has made a point to warn him or her that "this 'President George Washington Chicken McNugget' is frozen but is not being sold for human consumption."
